Will of James Anning of Cullompton, Gentleman

This is the last Will and Testament of me James Anning of Cullompton in the county of Devon gentleman made this first day of December one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine

I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid and discharged

Subject thereto I give unto my mother Harriet Anning one annuity of one hundred pounds payable half yearly

And on the death of my said mother I give unto each of my sisters (viz) Frances Mary Anning Sarah Smith Anning the sum of five hundred pounds

Also I give unto the three children of my sister Harriet Mortimore now living the sum of fifty pounds each to be paid and payable at their respective ages of twenty one years

In case of the death of either child or children the share of him or her so dying shall be payable to the survivor or survivors in equal share or shares

All the rest and residues of my real and personal estate I give devise and bequeath subject and charged as aforesaid unto my brother William Anning his executors administrators and assigns and I appoint my said brother William Anning and Richard Mortimore executors in trust of this my Will

Signed sealed published and declared by the said James Anning the testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence have subscribed our names as witnesses

Mary Upcott the mark or name of Elizabeth Reed Rich Hurley

Proved at London 2nd Octr 1830 before the judge by the oath of William Anning the brother one of the executors to whom administration was granted having been first sworn by commission duly to administer power reserved of making the like grant to Richard Mortimore the other executor when he shall apply for the same
