In the name of God Amen I Elizabeth Babidge of Cullumpton in the countie of Devon widdowe being sick and weake in bodie but of perfect and disposeing memorie thankes be given unto Almightie God for the same doe make and declare my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following revoking all former Wills by me made whatsoever
First I commend my soul into the hands of Almightie God that gave it to me hopeing and assuredlie believing to be saved by and through the only meritts death and passion of Jesus Christ my Lord and only Saviour and my bodie I committ unto Christian buriall
Touching my worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I dispose the same as followeth
Imprimis I give unto my daughter Thomsin now the wife of Robert Jermyn all my wearing apparrell both linnen and woollen of what nature soever to be delivered unto her by my executor hereinafter named within one month next after my death
Item I give unto my daughter Tomyn five shillings of currant English money to be paid by my executor att the ende of one month next after my decease and whereas I have given unto my said daughter all my wearing apparrell my will and meaning nevertheless is that if my said daughter shall think it convenient or be better pleased to take monie in lieu of the apparell then my will is that my executor shall pay unto my said daughter the summe of fortie shillings within two months next after my decease which shall be unto her in full satisfaction of all legacies herein by me bequeathed
Item I give unto my two grandchildren Phillipp Jermyn and Mary Jermyn sonn and daughter of my daughter Thomsyn fiftie shillings apiece to be paid by my executor when they shall accomplish the age of one and twentie years and if it shall happen that either of them die in his or her minoritie then my will is that the portion of money shall rebound to the benefitt of such as shall survive and if it shall soe happen that both of them dye before they accomplish theire full age of one and twentie yeares that then I give the five poundes soe devised unto my sonne John Babidge
All the rest of my goods chattells credditts and household stuffe not herein before given my debts legacies and funerall expenses being first paid and performed I give and bequeath unto my sonne John Babidge whome I make the whole and sole executor of this my last Will and Testament and finally I doe desire and appoynte my faythfull and loving friend Master John Upington and my loveing friend and kinsman James Babidge to be Overseers of this my last Will praying them to be ayding unto my said executor and the execution hereof and for theire love and paines herein I give each of them twelve pence apiece
In witness hereof to everie page of this my last Will and Testament contayning two in number I have sett my hand and seale the sixth day of September in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand six hundred fiftie five The marke Elizabeth Babidge

This Will was proved at London the second day of Januarie in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand six hundred fiftie and (according to the computation of the Church of England) before the Judges for probate of Wills and granting Administrations lawfully authorized by the oath of John Babidge the sonne and whole and sole executor named in the above written Will to whome administration of all and singular the good chattells and debts of the said deceased was committed he being first legallie sworne by virtue of a commission trulie and faythfullie to administer the same
