Proved in the Registry of the Archdeaconry of Exeter the 28th October 1818
Elizabeth Melhuish of Cullompton in the county of Devon spinster the sole executrix named in the last Wil and Testament of John Bale late of the same, staymaker who died on the twenty eighth day of October 1818
This is the last Will and Testament of me John Bale of Cullompton in the county of Devon staymaker as follows
I will that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid off and discharged as soon as conveniently may be after my death
I give and bequeath unto my son Henry Bale otherwise Melhuish my clock and case my best bed my night table and mahogany round table my pair of silver tablespoons and also my board
Also I give unto my wife Mary Bale one shilling
All the rest residue and remainder of my goods and chattles monies securities for money rights credits personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever subject to the payment of all my just debts and funeral expenses as aforesaid I give devise and bequeath unto Elizabeth Melhuish who now lives with me her executors administrators and assigns and I do hereby constitute and appoint he said Elizabeth Melhuish sole executrix of this my Will
And lastly I revoke all and every other Will and Wills by me heretofore made ratifying this alone to be my last Will and Testament
In witness whereof I have to this my Will set my hand and seal the thirtieth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen John Bale
Signed sealed published and declared by the said testator John Bale as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other subscribed our names as witnesses thereto
