In the name of God Amen the three and twentith daye of March Anno Domini one thousand sixe hundred and seaven I John Ball of Collompton in the county of Devon gent beinge sick in bodie but of good and perfect remembrance whereof I give God thankes doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following revoking all former Wills whatsoever
First I give and bequeath my soule unto the handes of Almightie God hoping by his meritts and death of Jesus Christ to be saved my bodie to be buryed according to the discretion of my executors hereafter named.
Item I give unto Mary my wife one hundred markes and unto my two daughters Elizabeth and Anne Ball to every of them three hundred poundes apiece
fortie shillings to the poore of Collompton and tenn shillinges towards the reparation of the parish church of Collompton
tenn shillings unto my servant John Aire five shillings to Michael Conde five shillings to Edward Salter and five shillings more to Emma als Emyne Stone
The residue and surplus of all my goodes and chattells I doe give and bequeath unto the child in the bellie or wombe of my wife if she have any
And the executors of this my last Will and Testament I doe ordaine and appointe Humfrey Ball my brother Richard Ford gent my brother in law and Jo Hatch gent
Item my will is that the sixe hundred pounds which I have given to my two daughters shall be paid to each of them at such tyme as by the discretion of my executors shall be fought meete and convenient witnesses hereunto

Memorandum the Will of the said John Ball further was as touching the residue and remnant of his goodes and chattells given and bequeathed unto the childe in the belly or wombe of his wife if she had any that the same shall remaine in the handes of his executors untill such tyme as the same child shall accomplishe his full age of one and twentie yeares And if the same child shall happen to die before he or she shall accomplishe the same age then the same residue or surplus shall be disposed of according to the discretion of his executors
