In the name of Allmighty God Amen I John Banton of Collumpton in the county of Devon being weake of body but of sound and perfect memory doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following

I comend and give my soule to Almighty God my creator hoping through the sole merritts of my Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to obtaine everlasting salvation and my body to the earth from whence it was taken to bee decently buried at the discretion of my executrix hereafter named

Item I give unto my kinsman William Banton the sume of five shillings and to Lewes Banton his sonn five shillings and to John Banton his sonn five shillings to bee paid to the said William by my executrix in twelve months next after my decease

Item all the rest of my goods not before by me bequeathed I doe give unto my loving wife Grace Banton whome I doe make ordaine and appoint to bee my whole and sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament to see my body decently buried and to pay my just debts and legacies

And I doe desire my loving friends James Hartnoll and John Avish to bee ayding and assisting to my executrix in the performance of this my Will and for their paines and care therein doe give unto each of them twenty shillings apiece

In witness whereof I have here unto sett my hand and seale this three twentieth day of June one thousand six hundred and ninety four
