The New Bell, landlord  J B Frost and the Old Bell, landlord William Tucker are both listed in the 1822/3 Pigot’s Directory but have been unable to find out the location of the Old Bell.

16 June 1871Mr W H Stafford is instructed by the executor of the late Silas Frost to offer for SALE by Public Auction at the NEW BELL INN, in Cullompton, on Wednesday 21st June inst. at Four o’Clock in the Afternoon, all that old established and well accustomed INN called the “New Bell” with the Malthouse, Brewhouse, Stable, Skittle Alley, and Offices, belonging thereto; and the dwelling house adjoining. In the occupation of Henry Baker, situate in the town of Cullompton aforesaid..  Also a convenient Cottage situate in Crow Green, in Cullompton aforesaid, occupied by Mr Frederick Hawkins.  The purchaser of the above inn (in which a successful business has been carried out for more than 40 years by the late owners) will  be required to take the stock-in-trade, casks, and utensils at a price which will be named at the commencement of the sale. Western Times
