In the name of God Amen I John Berrey of Collumpton in the countie of Devon carrier being in good and perfect health and memorie (God be praised for it) doe make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following

Imprimis I give and bequeath my soule into the hands of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer by the onlie merritts of whose precious death and passion I hope to obtayne pardon of all my sinnes and life eternall And my bodie to bee buried in the churchyard of Colompton if I shall happen to dye in or neare Collumpton

Item I give to the poore of the said parish of Collumpton the summe of ffyve shillings to be distributed by the discretion of my executors and overseers here named to whome they shall think most fitt

Item I give and bequeath unto my son Danyell Berrey the summe of twenty shillings to be paid him within one yeare after my death

Item I give unto Elnor Watson my daughter the summe of twentie shillings to be paid within one halfe yeare after my death

Item I give unto Johane Berrey my daughter the summe of ffive pounds to be paid to her when shee shall attayne to the age of one and twentie yeares by my executor

Item I give to John Watson Charles Watson and Elnor Watson sonnes and daughter of Charles Watson my sonne in lawe the summe of ffyve shillings apiece to be paid them by my executor within one yeare of my death

Item I give unto John Taylor the sonne of Thomas Taylor my grandchild and godsonne the summe of ffive shillings to be paid him within one yeare of my decease

Item I doe will and demise declare and appoint that all the residue of my goods and chattells whatsoever my debts and legacyes being paid I give unto my sonne Peter Berrey whome I doe make and appoint to be my sole executor

And if it shall happen that my sonne Peter Berrey shall happen to dye after hee shall accomplish the age of one and twentie yeares that then my will is that my three daughters Elnor Alice and Johan my debtsh and legacyes being paid all my estate shall remayne and be equallie distributed and divided betweene them and the survivors of them

And I doe intreate my loving friend Thomas Attkins William Sumpter and William Fowler all of Collumpton to be my overseers of this my Will and to be executors if they please of this my Will during the minority of this my sonne Peter Berrey and until hee shall come to the full age of one and twentie yeares and I give to each of them tenn shillings apiece and my will is if they please to be executors to this my Will and to administer during the minoritie of my said sonne Peter that they and everie of them shall be allowed of all their charges and expenses therein out of all or ani parte of my said estate goods or chattells

In witness hereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale on the twentith day of October one thousand six hundred thirtie ffyve and in the eleaventh yeare of the raigne of our sovereigne Lord Charles by the grace of God King of England France and Ireland Defender of the ffayth etc. I B

Signed sealed and declared by the said John Berrey to be his last Will and Testament upon the daie of the date of these presents with the presence of us
