Executor William Blackmore of same
I Sarah Blackmore of Uffculme in the county of Devon widow being sick and weak of body but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say)
First I give unto Anna (wife of William Blackmore) my pair of decanters and tea caddy with the silver shell and large tea tray to be delivered to her by my executors in trust immediately after my internment
Also I give unto my son Edward Blackmore the use of my writing desk until he shall attain the age of twenty one years and when and so soon as he shall attain that age I give the same desk unto him absolutely and forever
But in case of his death under that age I give the same immediately thereof unto John Blackmore son of the said William Blackmore for his own use and benefit
I also give unto my said son Edward one silver table spoon and unto my son William half a dozen of silver tea spoons to be delivered to them respectively by my said executors at such time or times and when they in their discretion shall think proper
All the rest residue and remainder of my goods and chattels monies and securities for money personal and testamentary estate substance and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of every kind and sort I give and bequeath unto my brother in law the said William Blackmore and Thomas Westcombe of Cullompton in the said county bootmaker
Upon trust that they and the survivor of them his exors and admors do and shall sell and dispose thereof or otherwise apply the same to and for the maintenance education and bringing up up my three sons Edward James and William and in such manner as they or the survivor of them his exors or admors shall in his or their discretion think proper until the younger of my said sons shall attain his age of twenty one years
And if any monies or part of my effects shall be then unapplied for the purposes aforesaid then upon trust for such of my said sons as shall be then living part and share alike
And I do appoint the said William Blackmore and Thomas Westcombe executors in trust of this my Will and I do order and direct that my trustees shall be charged and chargeable only for such monies as he or they shall respectively actually receive by virtue of the trusts and not be answerable for any loss of the trust premises so as such loss happen without their or his wilful neglect and that one of them shall not be answerable for the other of them and that they and each of them shall and may retain out of the trust premises all the costs and expenses in which he or they may have suffer or be put unto in the execution of the aforesaid trusts or any way relating thereto
In witness whereof I the said Sarah Blackmore have to this my Will written on two sheets of paper set my hand to the first sheet and my hand and seal to this second and last sheet thereof this thirtieth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve Sarah Blackmore
Signed sealed published and declared by the said Sarah Blackmore as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at her request in her presence and also in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto
