This is the last Will and Testament of me Margaret Bowden of Hillersdon in the county of Devon spinster

First I resign my soul unto Almighty God that gave it me hoping the salvation thro the resurrection and intercession of my beloved Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for a perfect remission and forgiveness of all my sins and offenses and my body to the ground to be decently interred at the discretion of my executor hereinafter named

And as to such worldly goods effects wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with I give devise and bequeath the whole of my estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and what nature or kind soever after payment of my just debts and funeral expenses unto my very good and loving friend Mr Samuel Lyon of the county of Middlesex his heirs executors administrators to and for his and their sole and absolute use benefit behoof and disposal

And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said Samuel Lyon sole executor of this my last Will and Testament and revoke all former or other Wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare this to be my last Will and Testament

In witness whereof I the said Margaret Bowden the testatrix have hereunto set my hand and seal this nineteenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy one

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Margaret Bowden the testatrix as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have severally and respectably subscribed our names in her presence and at her request and in the presence of each ever

This Will was proved at London the sixteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty six before the Worshipful Thomas Bever Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the Right Worshipful Peter Calbert Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Samuel Lyon the sole executor named in the said Will to whom administration was awarded of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the deceased he having been first sworn duly to administer
