Appeared personally Mary the wife of Robert Welch of Cullompton in the county of Devon innkeeper [before her marriage with him called Mary Arbery wife of Thomas Arbery deceased] one of the daughters and one of the residuary legatees named in the last Will and Testament of Henry Burrow late of Cullompton in the county of Devon farmer deceased who died on the 14th day of May 1845

This is the last Will and Testament of me Henry Burrow of Cullompton in the county of Devon farmer

First I give and bequeath unto Joseph Ham of Bradninch in the same county farmer Thomas Arbery of Cullompton aforesaid dairy man their executors and administrators all my life and dead stock hay corn straw potatoes implements in husbandry monies and securities for money household goods and furniture and everything that I may die possessed of in trust as follows requesting them to allow my wife to carry on the business and to enjoy all that I may die possessed of during the term of her natural life or as long as she shall remain my widow subject nevertheless to the payment of my just debts funeral expenses and the expense of proving this my Will

And from and immediately after the decease or intermarriage of my said wife then I direct my said trustees to sell all my life and dead stock and my other effects and divide the amount thereof between my six daughters viz Mary wife of the said Thomas Arbery Sarah wife of Charles Oldbridge of Bradninch aforesaid cow keeper Melony wife of Frederick Coress of Brixham in the said county tin plate worker Ann wife of Anthony Nix also of Bradninch innkeeper Harriet wife of Thomas Govier likewise of Bradninch maltster and Charlotte wife of John Pollard now or late at Bridport in the county of Dorset labourer share and share alike independent of their present or any future husband and my said daughter’s receipt only shall be a sufficient discharge for the same first deducting from my said daughter Melony the sum of ten pounds from my said daughter Ann twenty pounds from my said daughter Harriet nine pounds and from my said daughter Charlotte the sum of ten pounds which said several sums I have already advanced them

And lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint them the said Joseph Ham and Thomas Arbery executors in trust of this my last Will and Testament and my will is and I do hereby direct that my executors and trustees shall each of them be answerable for his act and receipts only and not the one of them for the other of them and also that they shall retain all their cost charges damages and expenses out of the estate and the effects in them respectively invested in and by this my Will and the trusts therein contained

In witness whereof I the said Henry Burrow have to this my last Will and Testament set and subscribed my hand this twenty second day of March one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine
