Proved in the Principal Registry of the Lord Bishop of Exeter 27th September 1839

Appeared personally John Burrow of Cullompton in the county of Devon tailor the son and one of the next of kin of the said Thomas Burrow deceased, Elizabeth Burrow the executrix named in the Will of the said Thomas Burrow having departed this life in the lifetime of the said Thomas Burrow who died on the 30th day of March 1839

This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Burrow of Cullompton in the county of Devon taylor

I give and devise all and singular my leasehold lands tenements and hereditaments called or known by the name of Rouses situate in Bridges Street within the town of Cullompton aforesaid

And whereof or whereunto I am possessed or entitled for all the residue of a certain term of nine hundred and ninety nine years unto my dear wife Elizabeth Burrow to have and to hold the same for and during the term of her natural life and from and immediately after the decease of my said wife I give and devise the same unto such of my children as are hereinafter named and in such parts shares and proportions as are hereinafter mentioned (that is to say)

I give and devise all that cottage or dwelling house and premises with one moiety of the garden (being that half or part there and to adjoining) now in the possession of James Pearcey unto my daughter Elizabeth Pearcey wife of the said James Pearcey her heirs and assigns for and during all the residue of the said term which shall then become and unexpired and the other moiety or half of the said garden (from and immediately after the decease of my said wife)

I give and devise unto my son John Burrow his heirs and assigns for all the residue of the said term then to come and unexpired

And from and immediately after the decease of my said wife I give and devise all that cottage or dwelling house and premises now in the possession of my said son John Burrow unto my daughter Mary Page wife of Samuel Page of Willand in the county of Devon Velmonger for and during the term of their natural lives free and clear from all encumbrances thereon

And from and immediately after the decease of them the said Mary Page and Samuel Page I give and devise the same unto my said daughter Elizabeth Pearcey her heirs and assigns for and during all the residue of the said term then to come and unexpired

And from and immediately after the decease of my said wife I give and devise all that cottage or dwellinghouse and premises now in the possession of William Rutley junr unto my said daughter Elizabeth Pearcey and her assigns for and during the term of the natural lives of them the said Mary Page and Samuel Page

And from and immediately after their decease I give and devise the same unto my said son John Burrow his heirs and assigns for and during all the residue of the said term then to come and unexpired

And from and immediately after the decease of my said wife I give and devise all that cottage or dwelling house and premises now in the possession of the said James Pearcey and used by him as a carpenter’s workshop and also all that newly built cottage or dwellinghouse and premises adjoining the same now in my own possession unto my said son John Burrow his heirs and assigns for all the residue of the said term then to come and unexpired

Provided always and I hereby direct that my said son John Burrow and my said daughter Elizabeth Pearcey shall be each of them respectively subject to the payment or discharge of an equal proportion of such sum or sums of money as shall or may have been advanced on the said premises or any part thereof at the time of my decease

I give and bequeath unto my said son John Burrow my clock and case my said wife being allowed the use of the same during the term of her natural life

All and singular my goods chattels credits and effects whatsoever I give and bequeath unto my said wife Elizabeth Burrow whom I hereby nominate and appoint sole executrix of this my will hereby revoking all other Wills by me at anytime heretofore made and do declare this to be my only last Will and Testament

In witness whereof I said Thomas Burrow have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty ninth day of May in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three Thomas Burrow

Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Thomas Burrow the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto
