Will of Richard Dean late of Hillersdon Yeoman

This is the last Will and Testament of me Richard Dean of Hillersdon in the county of Devon yeoman made and executed by me the nineteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy

In the first place I direct my executor hereinafter named to pay and discharge all my just debts and funeral expenses and if it shall please God to put a period to my life whilst I remain in this country it is my desire that my body should be decently buried at Butterleigh

I give to the daughters (whose names I don’t know) of Anthony and Ann Barrett deceased late of Dunstow in Oxfordshire the sum of one hundred pounds equally to be divided between share and share alike

All the rest of my money securities for money goods chattells and effects whatsoever and wheresoever I give and bequeath to Mr John Tegg of Sutton in the county of Surrey and make him executor of this my Will hereby revoking all former Will and Wills by me made declaring this to be my last

In witness whereof I have hereunto set and seal the day and year aforesaid

Signed sealed published and declared by the said testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto in the presence and at the request of the said testator and at one another

This Will was proved at London on the twenty sixth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy before the worshipful Andrew Coltee Durrel Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Worshipful George Hay Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of John Tegg the sole executor named in the said Will to whom administration was granted of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased having been first sworn duly to administer
