Will of Robert Farye late of Cullompton, Husbandman

In the name of God Amen the seventeenth day of November in anno domini one thousand six hundred fortie five I Robert Farye of Collompton in the countie of Devon husbandman doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say)

First I committ my soule to Almightie God my Creator Redeemer and only Saviour and my bodie to the ground

Item I give and bequeath unto my sonnes and daughters Robert Thomas Phoeby and Melanie forty shillings apiece to be paid within one year after my decease

Item I give and bequeath to my sonnes and daughters John Symon and Mary three pounds apiece to be paid them when they shall accomplish the full age of one and twentie yeares

All the rest of my goods and chattells not given nor bequeathed I give and bequeath unto Hannah my wife whome I make my whole and sole executrix to perform my legacies and to pay my debts

And further my will is that if Hannah my wife doe happen to marry that then she shall pay more to every one of my said children twentie shillings apiece within one yeare after her marriage

In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand the day and yeare above written in the presence of us I doe also appoynte Richard Shoote of Pinhowe and John Colle of Ufculme to be my overseers to see this my last Will and Testament performed as aforesaid The mark of Robert Farye Rich. This is the original Will thirteenth of June one thousand six hundred fifty nyne Hen Pearse

This Will was proved at London the twentieth day of the month of June in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand six hundred fiftie and nyne before the Judge for probate of Wills and granting Administration lawfully authorized by the oath of Hannah Farye the relict and sole and only executrix named in the above written last Will and Testament of the said deceased to whome administration of all and singular the goods chattells and debts of the said deceased was granted and committed she being first legally sworne by virtue of commission duly and faythfully to administer the same
