Proved 13th January 1843 in the Archdeaconry Court of Exeter

Appeared personally Richard Griffin of Woodbury in the county of Devon yeoman one of the executors named in the last Will and Testament of Sarah Griffin late of Cullompton in the said county of Devon widow deceased who died on the 30th day of November 1842

This is the last Will and Testament of me Sarah Griffin widow of the late Richard Griffin of Cullompton in the county of Devon farmer

First I give and bequeath unto my two sons Richard Griffin and Henry Griffin all my monies securities for money and every thing that I may die possessed of in trust as follows

I give and bequeath the same unto James Griffin Elizabeth Read wife of Robert Read of Cullompton aforesaid Sarah Dymond wife of James Dymond also of the same place machine maker Richard Griffin Henry Griffin and Clement Griffin my sons and daughters to be divided between them share and share alike within six months after my decease (except as in hereinafter mentioned) subject nevertheless to the payment of my just debts funeral expenses and the expense of proving this my Will

But in case either of my said children should die then I give and bequeath his or her share so dying unto his or her children to be divided between them share and share alike

I give and bequeath all my clothes unto my said two daughters Elizabeth and Sarah to be equally divided between them

I give and bequeath unto my said son Henry my chest of drawers night chair and coffer

And lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my two said sons Richard and Henry executors in trust of this my last Will and my will is and I do hereby direct that my said executors and trustees shall each of them be answerable for his own act and receipts only and not the one for the other of them and that they shall not be answerable for any loss or miscarriage by any security or securities that may happen in my estate and also that they shall retain all their cost charges and expenses out of the estate and effects in them respectively vested in and by this my last Will and Testament

In witness whereof I the said Sarah Griffin have this to my last Will and Testament set and subscribed my hand and seal the nineteenth day of June one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven

Signed sealed published and declared by the said testatrix Sarah Griffin as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto
