In the name of God Amen
I Richard Lanne of Collompton yeoman the three and twentyth day of Aprill one thousand six hundred forty and five being sicke and weake in body but being and perfect in memory praysed bee given to God doe make this my last Will and Testament to bee made and done in manner and forme as followeth
Imprimis first I give and bequeath my soule to God Allmighty from home ytt had his beinge believing and trusting through the merritts of Jesus Christ to ptake of eternall life hereafter and my bodye to be buryed in the Church of Collompton
As for my temporall goodes wherewith God hath blessed mee with all I give and bequeath to the poore of Collompton one pounde and tenn shillings to bee distributed att the day of my funerall by my executrix hereafter named or such as she shall appoint
Item I give unto my daughter Anne Lanne four hundred and fifty poundes to bee paid att the day of her marriage yf the match with the consent of my wyfe and trusty friend whom I mind and will is to make my whole and sole executrix with all my goods and chattells which in my right unto mee belongeth and hath to give which being with child by mee and lawfully begotten this summe of two hundred and fifty pounds about named to be parted between them
Item I give and bequeath unto Thomas [ ] my godson child five shillinges
Item I give unto Bethebath [ ] twenty shillings
Item I give unto Margaret Willey tenn shillings
Item I give to another of my godchildren Ruth Bowman daughter to Richard Bowman five shillings
Item I give to John Chapman child another of my godchildren five shillings
Item I give unto Richard [ ] my godchild five shillings
I do also hereby ordaine my [ ] approved and good friends Mr Thomas Sumpter of Colompton and Edward Evligth of Kentbear to bee Rulers of this my Will and for their paynes I give to each of them tenne shillings
In wittness here are I have sett my hand and seale the day and year above wrytten the mark of Richard Lanne
