In the name of God Amen a thousand fyve hundred three score and eyght I Richard Lenynge of Collompton sycke of bodie but whole mynde and pfecte of memory do make thys my last Will and Testament in manner and forme followinge

Imprimis I bequeath my soule to almightie God and my bodye to be buryed in the churche yarde of Collompton

Item I give and bequeath to my brothers children John Lenynge fortye shillings a piece

More I give to Thomsyne Were the servante of the house fyve shillings

More I give to Philip Pooke servante to the olde pooke twelve pence

More I give to all the children of James Williams to each of them three shillings and fouere pence

More I give to be given to the poore of Collompton forty shillings

More I give to my younger brother all my wearinge apparell and two payre of [ ]

More I give to the Eline Kyle the wyfe of John Kyle three shillings fouere pence

More I give to everye one of my godchildren a piece of them fouere pence

All the rest of my goods I give and bequeathe to my brother in lawe Thomas Harrys whome I make my whole executor

Debts owed by the sayde Rychard Lenynge

Imprimis I owe unto James Wylliams of Collompton [ ] forty fyve shillings and eyght pence

More I owe unto a wydowe woman of Dorset [ ] for foure weightes of wole the which remayneth in my hoste’s house in the chamber which I holde of him severall to my selfe three pounds two shillings and eyght pence

More I owe to Poole and Dunnyng for dying of xxii kersie whereof I have payde fyve shillings

Imprimis there is one there is owed me by Robert [C…] of Collompton weaver xxxs

More there is owed me by the wydowe Webber of Tybberton fouere and twentie shillings

More there is owed me by Thomas Berkney of Tyverton
