Proved in the Archdeaconry Court of Exeter 15th Nov 1833
Appeared personally Betty Merchant of Cullompton in the county of Devon the widow and relict and general legatee named in the last Will and Testament of John Merchant of Cullompton aforesaid sergemaker deceased who died on the 24th day of July 1833
I John Merchant of Collumpton do you make this my last Will and Testament and give and bequeath all my property of every description whatsoever and wheresoever the same may be at the time of my decease to my beloved wife Betty Merchant for her sole use and benefit during the term of her natural life
And after her decease it is my will that what of my property may then remain shall be equally divided between my surviving children and the additional sum of ten pounds each I give to my daurs Betsy and Mary
And it is further my will that in case my daughter Ann the wife of John Walland shall not survive her mother that then I give on the death of my said wife the sum of ten pounds to my beloved son-in-law the said John Walland
