In the name of God Amen the sixte daie of July in the yeare of Our Lord God one thousand six hundred and one Joane Midleton of Collompton in the countie of Devon widowe sicke of bodie but of perfect memorie doe make this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following vizt.
First I bequeath my soule unto Almightie God and my bodie to xpian buriall.
Item I devise and bequeath unto every of my godchildren twelve pence apiece
Item I devise and bequeath unto Alice Harris my servante fortie shillings All other my goods and chattells not devised nor bequeathed I devise and bequeath to Phillip Clappe my loving and naturall sonne and John Clappe son of the said Phillip whom I do make my executors of this my last Will and Testament signum Joanne teste Humfrie Menefye signum Walter Gilbert
