Will of of John Murch late of London but now of Cullompton

I John Murch late of London but now of Cullompton in the county of Devon do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament

And I do hereby appoint an ordain my nephew Henry Murch of London son of my late brother Henry Murch sole executor of this my said Will unto whom I give devise and bequeath all and every my estate and property whether real or personal wheresoever and whatsoever upon trust and for the uses and purposes hereinafter mentioned that is to say

I give and bequeath unto my brother Joseph Murch of Cullompton one hundred pounds to be paid to him by my executor six months after my decease but should he my said brother Joseph die before the expiration of the said six months then in that case I give and bequeath the said sum of one hundred pounds to my surviving brother and sister in equal shares or to the survivor of them

I give and bequeath unto my brother Robert Murch fifty pounds to be paid to him by my executor six months after my decease

Also I give and bequeath unto him my said brother Robert one hundred pounds for the benefit of his children (and which he shall divide amongst them and give them in equal shares as they shall severally arrive to the age of twenty one years) to be paid to him by my executor six months after my decease

I give and bequeath unto my sister Betty Merchant one hundred pounds to be paid to her by my executor six months after my decease but should she my said sister Betty die before the expiration of the said six months then in that case I give the said sum of one hundred pounds to her husband John Merchant

And in case he also should die before the expiration of the said six months then the said sum of one hundred pounds shall be paid to my sister Betty’s children in equal shares

I give and bequeath unto my nieces the daughters of my said sister Betty one hundred pounds to be paid to them or the survivors of them in equal shares by my executor six months after my decease in addition to which I give and bequeath unto my niece Ann Merchant daughter of my said sister Betty fifty pounds to be paid her by my executor six months after my decease

I give and bequeath unto John Murch of Cullompton son of my sister Betty nineteen pounds to be paid to him by my executor six months after my decease

All and every the remainder of my estate and property whether real or personal wheresoever and whatsoever I give devise and bequeath unto my nephew and execute or Henry Murch for his own use and enjoyment and to be at his own disposal be it known however that it is my will that he my said executor shall pay all my just debts funeral expenses and the charges of proving this my said Will and also all the duties payable on the legacies herein bequeathed

Revoking all other I do declare this to be my last Will and testament made this twenty fourth day of October one thousand eight hundred and twenty six

Signed sealed published and declared by the said John Murch as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses
