This is the last Will and Testament of me Jane Norcross of Cullompton in the county of Devon widow as follows

I give unto my sister Ann Underhay my likeness also my easy chair in the drawing room my mohair antique gown one of my quilted petticoats and my scarlet half shawl

I give unto my niece Elizabeth Upcott my teapoy and the little ornamental piece of furniture with the plate glass in the back and my brooch set with pearls which was her mothers

I give unto my niece Jane Selwood my pianoforte and one of my knitted quilts

I give unto my niece Mary Cosway one other of my knitted quilts and another I give to my niece Ann Binford Sellwood

I give my gold watch with the white [ ] seal and the key unto my nephew Binford Sellwood and I give to my nephew John Binford Selwood my new silver mounted cup

I give unto my niece Mary Ball Bond the likeness of my late dear husband and my red crepe scarf

The remainder of my wearing apparell and jewellry and my [ ] except what I have hereinafter given to my servant and my table [ ] I give unto my nieces Mary Cosway Ann Pitts Mary Ball Bond Mary Binford Sellwood Ellen Sellwood Sarah Brook Sellwood Jane Sellwood and Ann Biniford Sellwood to be divided between them as equally as possible by Mary Sellwood wife of my brother Daniel Bishop Sellwood my sister Ann Underhay and my niece Mary Cosway whose determination shall be final and conclusive which division to be effected within one month next after my decease

I give unto my said nieces Mary Cosway Ellen Pitts Mary Ball Bond Mary Binford Sellwood Ellen Selwood Sarah Brook Sellwood Jane Sellwood and Ann Binford Sellwood and my niece Elizabeth Upcott all my books to be divided among them as equally as possible by my executor and executrixes hereinafter named within one month next after my decease

I give unto Ellen Pitts daughter of my sister Ann Pitts the sum of nineteen guineas payable one month after my decease

I give unto my servant Elizabeth Sanders in case she shall be therein in service at my decease the sum of five pounds sterling and also the following household furniture namely the bedstead small feather bed and bolster in her bedroom with two bolster cloths quilt three blankets and three sheets belonging to her bed also the chest of drawers in the same room in the kitchen the fender fire irons and shovel small lapped table with drawer the side table with drawers by the door sail box two small [ ] and the two willow pattern vegetable dishes all the basins in the scullery one saucepan long hair brush candle box table in the pantry and the chest of drawers in the store room to be respectively paid and delivered to her within one month after my decease

I also will and direct one suit of mourning to be provided for and given her at my funeral suited to her station in life the whole of my gifts to my said servant to be free of legacy duty

I also will order and direct my brother Daniel Bishop Selwood to procure a decent monument to the memory of my late dear father and mother to be erected in the parish church of Cullompton aforesaid for which purpose I give him the sum of twenty pounds

All the residue of my estate and effects of what kind or description soever they may be I give and bequeath unto my nieces Mary Cosway Ellen Pitts Mary Ball Bond Mary Binford Sellwood Ellen Sellwood Sarah Brook Sellwood Jane Sellwood and Ann Binford Sellwood and my nephew John Binford Selwood daughter and son of my late brother Charles equally between them share and share alike as tenants in common the division to be effected by my executor and executrixes within six months next after my decease

And I nominate and appoint my said brother Daniel Bishop Sellwood my sister Ann Underhay and my niece Mary Cosway executor and executrixes in trust of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void every will by me heretofore made

In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed and set my hand and seal that is to say my hand to the first sheet and my hand and seal to this second sheet the thirtieth day of September one thousand eight hundred and fifty four Jane Norcross

Signed sealed acknowledged and declared by the said Jane Norcross as and for her last Will and Testament contained on two sheets of paper with her name in the first sheet and her hand and seal to this second sheet in the presence of us present at the same time who in our presence at her request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto the words daughter and son of my late brother Charles having been first interlined

Proved at London 20th January 1855 before the judge by the oath of Daniel Bishop Sellwood the brother and Ann Underhay wife of William Underhay the sister and Mary Cosway spinster the niece the exors to whom admon was granted having been first sworn by comon duly to administer
