Proved in the Registry of the Archdeaconry of Exeter the 24th of May 1819

William Mills of the parish of Cullompton, carpenter the executor and residuary legatee named in the last Will and Testament of Alice Pearce late of Cullompton aforesaid spinster who died on the nineteenth day of March 1819

This is the last Will and Testament of me Alice Pearce of the parish of Cullompton in in the county of Devon spinster

First I will that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid off and discharged as soon as conveniently may be after my decease

I give and bequeath unto my two brothers William and Nathaniel Pearce the sum of twenty pounds each

I also give unto my seven sisters as follows (that is to say) to Thomasin wife of John Tricky twenty pounds Dorothy wife of William Bower twenty pounds Mary wife of Henry Hayman twenty pounds Sarah wife of Edward Clark twenty pounds Elizabeth wife of Captain Scilly twenty pounds Jane wife of William Mills twenty pounds and Martha wife of John Sanson twenty pounds

I further give unto my sister Martha my bed and bedding and I will that all my wearing apparel shall be parted as equal as possible amongst all my sisters above named

I also give unto five of my nieces as follows to Sarah wife of William Trimlett ten pounds Elizabeth daughter of Henry Hayman ten pounds Jane daughter of William Mills ten pounds Ann wife of Joseph Eveleigh ten pounds Mary daughter of Sarah Clark five pounds all which said several legacies I order and direct to be paid by my executor hereinafter named in three months after my death

I give unto my other two nieces Mary Mills and Elizabeth Mills my two large silver spoons six silver teaspoons silver tea tongs china and all my other furniture and if either my three nieces Mary Mills Jane Mills and Elizabeth Mills should die before her or their legacy or portion becomes due then I will let it shall go to the survivors or survivor of them share and share alike

And in case any or either of the said legatees shall happen to die before his her or their legacy or legacies shall become payable then I direct that the same shall be paid to the child or children (if any) or the proper representative or representatives of him or them so dying

All the rest residue and remainder of my monies and securities for money I give and bequeath unto my brother-in-law William Mills whom I appoint sole executor of this my Will hereby revoking and making void all former and other Wills by me heretofore made and declare this to be my last Will and Testament

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this second day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen Alice Pearce

Signed sealed published and declared by the testatix as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at her request in her presence and in presence of each other have hereunto set our names as witnesses
