I Francis Poole of Cullompton do make this my last Will and Testament as follows

I give unto my wife Sarah Poole for and during her life all interests and proceeds of what I may die possessed of relying on her doing everything in her power for my own two daughters by her and not on any consideration to allow John Bailey her son to interfere with any of my papers or effects but in the event of her requiring any advice friendly or professional it is my wish that such should be solicited from Mr Frederick Leigh of Cullompton relying upon his not putting the estate to any more expense than can be possibly avoided the papers are not to be given up to him but retained in the possession of William Haine Maunder and Thomas Maunder junior my two sons in law

And I hereby nominate and appoint my wife Sarah Poole to be my executrix

In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this tenth day of May one thousand eight hundred and forty two Frans Poole

Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Francis Poole the testator in his presence and the presence of each other who have subscribed their names as witnesses hereto Joseph Foster Chemist Cullompton Henry Doble chemist Cullompton

In the Prerogative Court of Canterbury in the goods of Francis Poole deceased appeared personally Joseph Foster of Cullompton in the county of Devon chemist and druggist and made oath that he is one of the subscribed witnesses of the execution of the last Will and Testament by Francis Poole late of Cullompton in the county of Devon deceased bearing date the tenth day of May in the present year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two and now hereto annexed and he further made oath that on the said tenth day of May now last past the said testator duly executed his said Will by signing his name at the foot or and thereof in the presence of this deponent and of Henry Doble the other subscribed witness to the said Will both of whom were present at the same time and that he this deponent and the said Henry Doble thereupon attested and subscribed the said Will in the presence of the said testator and of each other Joseph Foster

On the 12th day of November 1842 the said Joseph Foster was duly sworn to the truth of the aforegoing affidavit by virtue of the commission hereto annexed before me Wm Sykes clerk commissioner

Proved at London 17th of November 1842 before the judge by the oath of Sarah Poole widow the relict the sole executrix to whom administration was granted having been first sworn by commission duly to administer
