In the name of God Amen the two and twentieth day of November one thousand six hundred fiftie and five of Thomas Rollestone of Collumpton being weake of bodie but of sound and perfect memorie thankes be given unto Almightie God doe make this my last Will and Testament in forme and manner following
First I committ my soule into the hands of Almightie God hopeing assuredly through the meritts of Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer to be made pertaker of life everlasting
I give unto the poore of the said parish of Collumpton thirtie douzen of bread to be distributed att my buriall
I give unto my grandchild Elyhja Peck and to my grandchild Susanna Pennicott twenty poundes to be equallie divided betweene them and to be payd the first yeare after my decease out of the ground and rents now in the hands of those after mentioned John Bale senr Henry Blange Emmanuell Willye and the two Hams and John Chayle the first quarter to beginne then next after my decease which grounds & rent (after the terme of that one yeare be expired and fullie compleate and the legacies thereof paid)
I give unto my daughter Susanna Peck widdowe and my two other grandchildren Elizabeth Peck and Maria Peck during the terme of my estate in it equallie to be divided
I give unto the children of my daughter [ ] tenn poundes equallie to be divided
I give unto the children of my sonne William Rollestone deceased tenn poundes to be equallie divided and to the children of my sonne Samuel Rollestone I give tenn poundes equally to be divided
I give also unto my grandchild Richard Rollestone one bay foale or colt
I give and to Master William Brompton Minister of the said parish twentie shillings he preaching att my buriall
All the residue of my goods and chattells (the above said legacies being payd and my funerall expenses discharged) I give unto Prudence Rollestone my wife whom I make my whole and sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament and I appoynte ordaine and desire master William Osborne of St Georges Clist and Elisha Peck to be Overseers of this my last Will and Testament and doe give unto them twentie shillings each for theire paines
I also give unto Roger Silly twentie shillings he behaveing himselfand become a civill and honest apprentice continueing with my wife the terme of his apprenticeship be expired
In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale as on the day and yeare above said Thomas Rolleston
Signed and sealed and delivered in the presence of Susanna Peck the mark of Thomas Priddeaux
This Will was proved at London the fourth day of June in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand six hundred fiftie and six before the Judges for probate of Wills and granting Administrations lawfully authorized by the oath of Prudence Rollestone the relict and sole and only executrix named in the above written Will to whome administration of all and singular the good chattells and debts of the said deceased was committed she being first legallie sworne trulie and faythfully to administer the same
