In the name of God Amen I Anne Saffin of Cullumpton in the county of Devon widow being sick and weake of body but of sound and perfect mind and memory praise be therefore given to Almighty God revoking and making void all the former Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made doe ordaine and make this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say)
First and principally I commend my soule into the hands of Almighty God hopeing through the merits the death and passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins and to inherit everlasting life and my body I committ to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executrixes herein after named
And as touching the disposition of all such temporal estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as followeth
First I will that all my just debts and funeral charges shall be paid and discharged
Item I give and bequeath unto my sons George Saffin and John Saffin to each of them a broad piece of gold
Item I give to Robertus Sellecke my grandsonn one broad piece of gold
Item I give unto Alice Sellecke my granddaughter my wedding ring my best bed sheets and my silver porringer
Item to William Sellecke of Kendy my grandsonn I give one piece of gold and my signett ring
Item I give and bequeath unto Mary Moore my granddaughter fifty pounds which is now due to me from my grandsonn William Sellecke of Cullompton and I will that the said fifty pounds shall be taken into custody by my sonn in law Mr George Moore untill the said Mary shall attaine unto the full age of one and twenty years and then to be paid unto her with the full interest thereof he the said George Moore giving security for the said fifty pounds to my Rulers in Trust herein after named until the said Mary shall attaine to the age aforesaid
Item I give and bequeath unto Anne Sleap Peter Sleap and George Sleap my granddaughters and grandsons fifty pounds equally between them the same being due to me from their father Mr Robert Sleap and I will that’s the same shall remaine in the said Robert Sleap’s hands he giveing security for the same to my said Rulers and to be equally divided and paid to the said Anne Peter and George Sleap with the full interest thereof as they shall respectively come to the age of one and twenty years
But if any or either of them shall happen to dye and not attaine to the said age of one and twenty years then my will and meaning is that the survivor or survivors of them shall enjoy the whole at the age aforesaid
Item all the rest are my goods and chattells I give unto Mary Moore and Ann Sleap my two daughters and them I make my whole and sole executrixes of this my last Will and Testament and I nominate my trusty and well beloved friends Mr John Denning of Pitminster and Mr John Wendford of Cullompton to be my Rulers in Trust desireing them to doe their best in seeing this my Will performed and for theire paines therein I give to each of them a mourning ring to the value of tenn shillings a piece
