Will of Henry Skinner of Collumpton, Banker

I Henry Skinner of Collumpton in the coy of Devon banker do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament (viz)

After the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses which I hereby direct and such legacy or legacies as may be given by any codicil or codicils hereunto annexed I hereby give devise and bequeath all the residue of my goods and chattels rights and credits lands and tenements bills bonds notes monies and securities for money real and personal estate of whatsoever nature kind or value which I shall die possessed of unto my daughter Sarah the wife of John Templer of Collumpton aforesaid clerk for and during her natural life

And from and after her death in case her said husband should survive her I give and bequeath the same to him for his natural life and from and after his death I hereby give and bequeath the same to and amongst the children of the said Sarah Templer or the descendants of such children in such proportions as they the said John Templer or Sarah his wife shall by any Will deed or instrument in writing direct or appoint or in case my said daughter shall leave but one child then to him or her the said child or the descendant or descendants of such child for the purposes aforesaid

I do not create any trust in full confidence that my said daughter and son in law will observe the directions hereby given and preserve the property I shall leave for the benefit of themselves and family

In witness whereof I the said Henry Skinner the testator have hereunto set my hand and seal this tenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen

Signed sealed published and declared by the said testator Henry Skinner as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto in the presence of the said testator and of each other

On the 8th of January 1820 admon with the Will annexed of the goods of Henry Skinner late of Cullompton in the county of Devon esquire deceased was granted to Sarah Templer wife of the Revd John Templar clerk the natl lawful daughter and universal legatee for life being first sworn by commission duly to administer no executor
