In the name of God Amen Anno dm a thousand fyve hundred three score and sixe the twentie and firste daye of October in the eighte yere of the reigne of our Sovereigne Ladie Elizabeth by the grace of God Queene of England France and Yrelande defender of the faithe etc.

I John Taylder als Taylor of Colompton in the countie of Devon beinge sick of boddy but holl and perfitt of memorie thankes be to God doe make this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme followinge

First I give and bequeath my soule to allmightie God my maker and Jesus Christ my saviour and redeemer and my boddy to be buryed in the churche yarde of our Lady in Columpton

Item I give to the reparation of the saide churche three shillings and foure pence

Item I give unto the poore thirteene shillings foure pence

Item I give and bequeath unto my goddaughter Alice Ball one lamb

Item I give and bequeath unto my godson Roger Allwaye one lamb

Item I give and bequeath unto everie other of my godchildren twelve pence apiece

Item I give unto John my eldest sonne twentie poundes

Item I give and bequeath unto George my sonne twentie pounds

Item I give and bequeath unto William my sonne twentie pounds

Item I give and bequeath unto Thomas my sonne twentie pounds

Item I give and bequeath unto James my sonne twentie pounds

Item I give and bequeath unto Mary my daughter twentie pounds

Item I give and bequeath unto Christian my daughter twentie pounds

Further I will that the legacies before given to my five sonnes shall be delivered unto them by my executors when they be fullie twentie years of age except my sonne John which I will it be delivered hym by the discretion of my executors

And I will that the foresaid legacies given to my two daughters to be delyvered unto them when they be twentie years of age unless they marry before by the advice of my executors

Also I will that if any of my said children happen to dye before they come to twentie years of age that then the said legacies unto them bequeathed to remeyne to the residue of the children then living

Item whereas I have given and bequeathed unto my seaven children seaven score pounds that is to say twentie pounds apiece of them my will and mynde ys that if my goods and chattels will not extende to the sum of twentie pounds to apiece of them that then they and everie of them to allow so muche of their part and portions as shall be lacking of the whole summe of seaven score pounds everie one according to his part and portion that shall lack uppon the saide seven score poundes

Item I give and bequeath unto Willmot my wife two [ ] thirtie busshells of rye fortie busshells of oats one bedd performed wherith she lyethe in two pannes not the best nor the worst and my second best brassin croak

Item all the residue of my gooddes not given nor bequeathed I give and bequeath unto William Ball and Martin Lyswill whom I ordeine and make my holl executors to the use and behoof of my foresaide children

Also I doo appoynt and ordeine John Allwaye and John Maye to be overseers of this my last Will and Testament
