Proved 18th April 1843 in the Archdeaconry Court of Exeter

Appeared personally Thomas Williams the elder of Cullompton in the county of Devon builder and William Bragg of Sandford in the county of Devon builder two of the executors named in the last Will and Testament of Charles White late of Cullompton yeoman who died on the 24th day of February 1843

This is the last Will and Testament of me Charles White of Cullompton in the county of Devon farmer yeoman

I give devise and bequeath all my real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto Thomas Williams the elder and Thomas Williams the younger both of Cullompton aforesaid builders and William Bragg of Sandford in the said county builder their heirs executors administrators and assigns

Upon trust as soon as convenient after my decease absolutely to sell either by public auction or private contract the whole of my real and personal estate and after paying my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses out of the monies to arise from such sale upon trust to pay the residue of the money’s arising therefrom unto my wife Christian White to be applied by her towards the support of herself and the maintenance and education of my children by her

And I hereby declare that the receipt of my said trustees and the survivor of them his heirs and their or his assigns shall be a good discharge for all monies which in such receipt shall be expressed to be received and that all persons paying any monies to the said trustees or the survivor of them or their or his assigns for the purposes of this my Will and taking a receipt from them or him accordingly shall not be obliged to see to the further application of the same monies nor be accountable for the misapplication thereof and the one shall not be answerable for the other of them or for the acts deeds or defaults of the other of them nor for involuntary losses nor for money received under receipts in which they shall join only for conformity and shall and may reimburse themselves and each other out of the said trust premises or out of any monies that may come into their hands by virtue of these presents all costs and expenses to be incurred by them in the execution of the trusts aforesaid or any wise in relation thereto

And I hereby appoint the said Thomas Williams the elder Thomas Williams the younger and William Bragg joint executors of this my Will and I hereby revoke all of her Wills by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this present writing to be my last Will and Testament

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty first day of February one thousand eight hundred and forty three The mark of Charles White

Signed by the said Charles White the testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the joint presence of us who in his present have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto
