In the name of God Amen the yere of our Lord God one thousande five hundred three score and two and the second daie of October I Humfrey Woode of the parishe of Culumpton whole of mynde and pfitt remembrance make my Testament conteyning my last Will in manner and forme followinge

First I bequeath my soule to the mercie of God and my bodie to be buried in the churche yarde of Colompton

Item I give to Thomas my sonne [ ]

Item I give to my daughter Margarett [ ]

Item I give to my daughter Thomazin [ ]

Item I give to my daughter Margerie [ ]

Item I give to my daughter Anstance [ ] and my great brassen panne

Item I give my second best panne to my daughter Margerie

Item I give to my daughter Margaret my third panne

Item I give two little pannes to my daughter Thomazin

Item I give to my sonne Thomas my best brassen pott

Item I give to my daughter Margaret a pewter platter and a porringer

I give to my daughter Thomazin a pewter platter and a porringer

Item I give to my daughter Margerie a pewter platter and a porringer

Item I give to my daughter Anstans a pewter platter and a porringer

Item I give to my son Thomas fouer [ ]

Item I give to my sonne George a yerlinge

And if it so [ ] that one of my children die before they be of lawfull yeres to use their legacies then [ ] then I will let his or her parte so deceased show discend to ye survivors and to be equallie distributed amongst them provided alwaies that these my legacies made unto my children shall be delivered unto the men children when they come to the age and yeres of xxj and my daughter’s legacies to be delivered at the daie of their marriage or if they marry not then to be delivered them at the end and term of xxj yeres

And I will that all these my legacies shall remaine in the hands of my wief untill such tyme that they marrie or come to the years of discretion

And if it fortune my wief to remarry then I will yt she shall deliver all these by legacies and bequests made unto my children into the hands of Thomas Woode my brother and Lawrence Toust they to have the occupation of the same and thereafter to defend to my children the resydue of my goods movable and unmovable with my debts I give and bequeath to Alice my wief whome I make sole executrix to see my bodie brought in the earthe and my legacies and debts contented and paid

And I constitute and ordeine of this my last Will and Testament my overseers my brother Thomas Woode and Lawrence Toust in witness of the promises forsaid given Thomas Carter parson of Kentisbeare Lawrence Toust and Thomas Franklin the day and yere above written
